I like the way this house finch is hanging out on the fence. You can not see this when looking with your naked eye, but so fun when you look at your photos and find one that makes you smile.
It seems I am drawn to taking pictures of fences. Maybe I like the repeating patterns, the geometry. Often I like the materials. Borders can be mundane and then again intriguing.
For the uninitiated, there are a lot of types of sparrows out there. If you think a sparrow is a sparrow is a sparrow, you are wrong. In fact there are so many types of sparrows, that I can’t figure out which one this is even though I’m consulting two different bird books.
A friend commented that it’s a female House Sparrow. I think it is!
I saw this fence on my birding field trip. The different colors and materials caught my eye.
