Mallard, San Carlos

At first I thought this was a Northern Shoveler, from National Geographic Field Guide, “green head, white breast, brown sides; and in early fall a white crescent on each side face.” However, the bill is all wrong and it’s yellow. Now I think it must be a Mallard.
